“Hey, are you train boy?”. It was the boy with the ball from before. I nodded. He sat down on the bench next to me. Then, a small hand popped out in front of me. “My name is Jake. I play here.”
“Nice to meet you,” I said. “So, you can talk!” Jake said, surprised. I laugh a little bit. “My parents taught me manners,” I replied. “Are trains interesting?” Jake asked. “Don’t they just move around?”.
I thought for a moment. “Yeah, but they’re the same as us. They go from one place to another every day. We just don’t have rails.” Jake smiled and said, “I guess.”

「君って”電車少年”なの?」以前にボールをもっていた少年だった。僕はうなづく。 彼が隣に座ると、突然手が目の前に出てきた。。「俺の名前はジェイク。ここでよく遊 ぶんだ!」。 「よろしく」と僕は返事したら「君、話せるんだ!」と言い驚くジェイク。それにはさ すがに笑ってしまい「両親には礼儀くらいは教わっているよ」と返した。 「電車って面白いの?ただ動き回るだけだよね?」と彼は聞く。一瞬考えてみたら、 「そうだけど人間と似てるから好きかな、人間もあっちこっち行く。僕らはただ車線が ないだけだから」「そうだね」と彼はニコニコしながら返事する」
